Welcome to the International Congress – Criminology, Victimology, and Justice!
It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome all participants to this edition of the congress, which will take place at Universidade Fernando Pessoa on October 15 and 16, 2025. This year, we focus on the crucial topic of Criminal Prevention, recognizing that in a world where security is increasingly challenged by new forms of crime and victimization, the importance of prevention strategies cannot be overstated. This congress serves as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and scientific collaboration, bringing together esteemed researchers, professionals, and students from diverse backgrounds.
Throughout the event, we will explore four thematic panels dedicated to fundamental aspects of crime prevention: Delinquency and Prevention, Crime, Violence and Victimization, New Technologies and Crime, and (In)Security and Policing. Each panel will be introduced by a distinguished speaker, followed by dynamic discussions that encourage critical engagement and debate. Additionally, we are delighted to welcome contributions from students and researchers, whose oral and written communications will enrich the discourse with fresh perspectives and innovative insights.
This edition of the congress will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants the flexibility to present their communications either in person or online, ensuring broader accessibility and engagement.
Beyond the academic discussions, this congress is an opportunity to strengthen scientific cooperation, showcase ongoing research, and broaden the perspectives of our students on the complexities of crime prevention. We hope that this event fosters meaningful exchanges, inspiring new ideas and collaborations that contribute to safer and more just societies.
We wish you an enriching and thought-provoking experience. Welcome to the ICCVJ25!
